It is not easy to label this album but let's store this band at the beginning as sludge metal (45%) and post-rock(55%). But it would be rough for a pure post-rocker listener... maybe post-hardcore or post-metal could be also used, but I don't believe it is accurate enough, IMO.
I would like to meet these guys before here in Madrid because I saw they were playing around here not a long ago. And if they sound live a half cool as on the album, a live set by
TIME TO BURN gotta be crushing!!!!
They explore heavy recourring riffs which carries you down to their hell as if you were comfortably seated on a giant snake who steadfastly arrives to the true throne of evil. Their soft (?) interludes soon cut up to bring harder riffs like a rollercoaster of sludgie fun. Anger suppurates on every note without flaunting: Just seing really cool front cover (very calm and peaceful sensation) and artwork of the album (clean colors... in the same way as Cult Of Luna's "Salvation" cover art) which don't show off the power truck who is about to start when you slip their CD into the player.
There are some kind of play in this album. Its title is "Is.Land"; first song's title "Is", fifth song out of ten's title is "." and last song is titled "Land". Hadn't received any reference about this and well... maybe I'm becoming mad and wanna see ghosts everywhere!!
Some similarities can be done on the fly with the band BATTLEFIELDS... and I said "some"...
I love this album, guys. Come to Madrid soon... Maybe soon we can talk for a show around here, together with your neighbours TORMENTA...
