Nevermind the DWARVES: here's TRIGGER EFFECT

Dissapointed to the bone... and angry. Yes: that's the feeling after the DWARVES gig.
Less than 60 minutes playing and no encore... Just note they didn't play DRUGSTORE!!!!!!

I looked like possessed... screaming... asking for more... but they didn't come out.

So it was time to calm down after showing my middle finger when entering the car... and there, there was that great TRIGGER EFFECT album waiting for me on the CD player. And it was somewhat like a magic pill.
The real thing is this album KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These guys are fücking crazy, I tell you!!!!

Right from the beginning this album ("Dare To Ride The Heliocraft") comes with a freak intro which makes you fear what comes later. Fuck labeling this album 'coz you won't be able: I bet you!!. Many many bands from many different scenes will go thru your head while listening this...

Even, vocally talking, you can find short passages where SLIPKNOT or MARILYN MANSON will come to your mind: distorted mic voice singing that way shoving among the sounds on tunes that will kick your balls hard.

The mix of styles is weird and FULLY recommendable to all of you. If you miss this album, you're nothing, dude.

Montreal based TRIGGER EFFECT have created one of the best albums this year on this great label SIGNED BY FORCE who is working so hard for the underground and hitting the bull's eye.

TOUR BULLETIN AND NEWS.
Hey.
We could have taken the easy way out and just said "Due to personal reasons we are unable to complete our scheduled April 2008 Tour". But we owe you more than that as some of you have been down for our shit for a long, long, long ass time. Also our little world of metal is pretty close-knit and shit travels fast. The rumor mill has a unique way of spinning shit way off the path.
Truth is we have worked our asses off for this band in the last 7 months and we are firmly committed to take 16 as far as we can. I myself busted my ass to get this tour done and rolling just as CT from Rwake has when he grabbed the bull by the horns on this one and just ran. Every time there is some joy in our life if always gets handed a shit load of pain. It wouldn’t be 16 without it.
Below is something I wrote a week ago in case this had to happen. Truth is one of us is going to jail and one of us is having major sinus surgery. I had an attorney who promised me 13 months ago that this would "all go away" and that the case would be dropped, the cops had no probable cause, blah, blah, fucking blah. Well kids, it didn’t get dropped and unless some miracle happens in court this Thursday a few months in jail is the ONLY solution. That being said, read on. I think the letter below lays it all out.

I guess we’ll just get straight to the point… There were so many people who helped put our April tour together and worked their asses off setting shit up and making things happen. CT from Rwake was the most important person who spent countless hours seeing everything got handled and worked out. Unfortunately we can’t do the tour. Corley has been involved in a huge legal battle with the cops and courts and we were hoping the case was gonna get dismissed but it just seems these fuckers are on his shit and want blood. The year they offered him in jail has been talked down from nine months to four. This appears to be the best deal. Another had him not being able to leave the state for a year and involved in this huge almost impossible to complete year long drug program ran by the state. At the best he will get some sort of house arrest or find some program to be in from anywhere to 3 to 6 months but can keep him free so we can still record as planned over the next 6 months. Trust us this has been a huge and expensive battle and it appears that they are not budging from where they are right now. We’ll know more on the 20th. And if that wasn’t enough Bobby has to have a major sinus surgery which got scheduled for three days into the tour. The recovery time in the hospital is four days. It’s a pretty major deal. We can’t express how pissed we are and this just fuels the fire for us to keep doing what we have been doing with the direction of the music. All of us are 100% focused on -16- and we have been working on this tour since September. This is a huge disappointment to us as I imagine to some of you who were coming from far away to see the shows. Once Corley’s ordeal is done we will be out touring as much as possible. The new record will be finished and we will be killing it like never before in 2009. We should have some actual good news to report in a few weeks. If there is some miracle and the court shit goes a different way then something may happen sooner but we could not wait any longer to drop the bad news on you all. Hang tight, don’t be too pissed. We are not going in anywhere. The band is stronger than ever and we will be here for a long time. Thanks to all who worked their asses off on this shit we just can’t make the nightmare go away. We’ll see ya soon, -16-

We are not going anywhere. We have amazing opportunities in front of us that will make it so we can record and tour like we have never been able to before. This is just a brief setback in the life of 16. We are here to stay.
Later,
JxCx

White Lilium - 2007 - II: Chrysalis

OFFICIAL

myspace

A pretty difficult task we have here: where the hell you can store this band with?
This doesn't mean a bad thing, of course. It is just a way to recommend this EP to everyone into eclectic styles, but metal oriented.

In this sense, you can say this could be progressive trash metal spiced with death metal segments. But this classification is short enough for these young guys (20 years ARO). "II: Chrysalis" (you can get these songs officially from this link in mp3 format) is not stuff only for metalheads, though headbangers from different styles will find this a delicious cake. I really find some passages and riffs near to the feeling you get when you listen to BUCKETHEAD. But you gotta add some interesting lyrics, kinda twisted in my opinion but cool in the end together with melodies.

Maybe, as a result of a NoizeLand recommendation, this EP is a bit hard to swallow for a newbie into metal but after a second spin, you'll find some juicy parts to chew for a long while.

With the enlistment of a new bassist (previous one left the band due to personal and musical differences), WHITE LILIUM looks to the future with a pleasant smile on their faces as they know what they're doing is their correct musical expression of what they feel.

They'll be at the Emergenza Bandcontest, somewhen april '08. Good luck!!!
